You or your spouse must have lived in Colorado for at least 91 days before you can file for divorce in Colorado.

Child must have lived in Colorado for at least 182 days (or since birth).

If you are ending a Civil Union, then neither party has to live in Colorado if you got your Civil Union License in Colorado

Colorado Fee Waivers. If you receive public assistance, or cannot afford to file your documents with the court, you may qualify for a court fee waiver. Any costs owed to the state may be waived. Such costs would include filing fees, reasonable copy fees, forms and instruction fees, jury fees, E-file and E-service fees, and research fees. You are not required to have an attorney to file for divorce in Colorado and the state does not provide attorneys for divorce. More information about fee waivers.
